Mrs. Zayna Shadid is the grades 6-12 Band Director and Marching Band Director in the Quaker Valley School District. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. While in Tallahassee, Mrs. Shadid performed on French horn with the Panama City Pops Orchestra and the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. 

After graduating in 2019, Mrs. Shadid began teaching in Hillsborough County just outside of Tampa, Florida where she was the Director of Bands at Stewart Middle Magnet School and Assistant Marching Instructor at Bloomingdale High School with a 280-piece marching band. During her time at Stewart Middle Magnet, Mrs. Shadid redesigned the course curriculum by integrating the arts into their STEM program to create their new STEAM program which is still used in their curriculum today. 

After moving to Pittsburgh in 2021, Mrs. Shadid worked in the Cornell and North Allegheny School Districts before being hired at Quaker Valley School District in 2022. At Quaker Valley, Mrs. Shadid began as the grades 6-8 band and choral director, the Music Director for the Middle School Musical, Director of the Quaker Valley Summer Band Camp and joined the Quaker Valley Marching Band Staff in 2023 as the Assistant Director and Brass Instructor, before becoming Grades 6-12 Band Director and Marching Band Director in August 2024. Mrs. Shadid is an active member of Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and National Association for Music Education (NAfME). She also co-directs the Western Area Middle School Honors Band festival with several other directors in the area. 

Mrs. Shadid is happily residing in Cranberry Township with her newly married husband, Steve.
